Since man first arrived in the Fiji Islands, the villages have been the cornerstone of the Fijian culture and way of life.

A traditional home in Fiji is called a Bures have made from bamboo and have thatched roofs. The Fijian families live mostly in in a single room, which they use to sleep, and eat.

Tourist can visit the villages and even have a day tour or night home stays in the village, which gives a great insight into the Fijian way of life. Many travel companies in Fiji offer day trips to the villages and also Fiji home stays. The Fijians are extremely hospitable and friendly people and visiting them in their village is an excellent way to immerse yourself in their Fijian culture.

Navala Village is one of Fiji's most famous village with a all the bures still built with the traditional Fiji way. There are many tours and trips so tourist can experience the Fiji village life.
